Newbi vs Popl, Blinq and HiHello: digital card apps compared

Three well-made digital business card apps, and one built for a different job. What each costs, who each is for, and where Newbi fits.

Popl, Blinq and HiHello are digital business cards many people have heard of. They are polished, they are widely used by sales teams, and they do what they set out to do. If you are comparing them to Newbi, the useful question is not "which is best" but "best at what".

I built Newbi, so keep that in mind. Prices and plan names below were checked on each company's own pricing page on 29 October 2026. They are in US dollars and can change, so confirm before you sign up. For a closer look at each one, read the single comparisons: Newbi vs Popl, Newbi vs Blinq and Newbi vs HiHello.

Popl

Popl is built for teams and events. Its pricing page offers teams an event lead capture plan or a digital business card plan, and links to Popl for Individuals, a digital business card app for one person. Team pricing is not published: the page says Popl quotes pricing over a meeting instead of publishing it on the website.

That tells you who it is for: companies with a sales team at trade shows, who want lead capture, CRM syncing and an admin who controls every card. If that is you, Popl's depth in that area is a genuine strength. If you are one person who wants to know the price before a call, its team plans are not aimed at you.

Blinq

Blinq is a clean individual card with strong team tools. As published on blinq.me on 29 October 2026, the Free plan gives you up to two cards, Premium is $9.99 a month or $7.33 a month billed annually for up to five cards, Business is $6.99 a card a month or $4.99 billed annually with a minimum of five cards, and Enterprise is custom, with enforced SSO and user provisioning.

Blinq's strengths are its design, its team administration and its security features for larger companies. The free tier is enough for an individual who only needs to share contact details.

HiHello

HiHello starts free. As published on hihello.com on 29 October 2026, the Personal plan is free with two digital business cards, Professional is $6 a month billed as $72 a year for eight cards, Business is $5 per user a month billed as $60 a user a year with a minimum of five users, and Enterprise is custom for 100 or more users.

HiHello also has a good reputation for turning paper cards you receive into contacts. If your need is purely "share my details and collect theirs", HiHello's free plan is hard to argue with.

What all three have in common

Each of them is a card. A good one, with a QR code and a save-contact button, and wallet passes and lead capture on the plans that include them. Each is priced in US dollars, which for a South African, Kenyan or Emirati business means the price moves with the exchange rate and may attract a foreign transaction fee.

Their focus is sharing details and capturing leads for people whose job is to start a conversation. That is not a criticism. It is what they are built for.

Where Newbi is different

Newbi starts from the other end: the small business whose customer wants to buy, book or enquire right now.

  • A mini-store on the card with your products and prices. Orders sent on WhatsApp carry no commission, and in South Africa the card can take card payments, with a 5% Newbi fee plus Paystack's processing fee.
  • A booking button, so a client picks a free time from the card.
  • A lead capture form on every card that sends new contacts to your dashboard, which you can export on every plan. On Professional, leads go to your CRM by webhook.
  • A WhatsApp button on every card.
  • Eight languages, with the whole card laid out right to left in Arabic.
  • A QR code and NFC card support on every plan, and Apple and Google Wallet passes on Pro and above.
  • A custom domain on the Professional plan.

Newbi has no free plan. Newbie is one card for $5 a month (R79, AED 19, £4). Pro, which adds three cards, the store, bookings and wallet passes, is $12 a month (R189, AED 45, £9), charged in your local currency. Professional, with ten cards, a custom domain and leads sent to your CRM, is $25 a month (R399, AED 92, £19). You can try Pro free for 14 days with no payment details.

How to choose

  • You are in a corporate sales team that does trade shows: look at Popl first.
  • You are an individual who wants a good-looking card and nothing else: Blinq's or HiHello's free plan.
  • You run a small business and want the person who scans your card to be able to book you, order from you or leave their number without a conversation: that is Newbi.

One more practical difference. Naya, the AI built into Newbi, builds the card from a description of your business or a photo of your old paper card, writes the bio and the product descriptions, and picks a style. You sign up with an email, with no password, and the live preview updates as you go. For a business owner who does not want to spend an evening on setup, that matters.

Popl, Blinq and HiHello's prices and features were taken from their own pricing pages on 29 October 2026 and may have changed since.
